Focus and Scope

Communication Papers is a scientific research journal, initiative from the 'ARPA research group' of the University of Girona which is integrated in the 'Latin Platform of Communication Journals' (PlatCom). Our objective is to collect articles from the scope of journalism, audiovisual communication and advertising, with particular emphasis on issues that deepen in the treatment of gender and media literacy.

Articles, reviews of books or articles and essays are welcome.

Each year a volume is published in electronic form with a number each semester. The publication date Number 1 is the June 30 and the date of publication of the number 2 is the 20 December. Each issue hosts a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 items. The texts will be published in accordance with pre-print system exceed the review process, corrections and be typeset, until the close of the number on the dates indicated.

The texts always preferably published in Spanish. Authors can also be sent versions in the following languages: English, Portuguese, French , Italian , Galician, Catalan and Euskere. In any case always give a summary in Spanish and English abstract.

Communication Papers is intended for academics, consolidated or emerging researchers, who want to disseminate the results of their research through scientific publication.

Communication Papers aims to provide a service to the international scientific community enhancing swap space to share, promote and disseminate the academic scientific production from research applied to social communication and more specifically to gender studies and media literacy.

REVIEWS

Las reseñas deben ser originales y no haber sido enviadas a otra revista para que considere su publicación. Se aceptarán reseñas de libros, artículos, informes, materiales docentes, documentos de trabajo, encuentros, congresos, foros y otras iniciativas similares.

Extensión: mínimo 800 palabras; máximo 1.200 palabras.

La reseña se estructurará en tres partes: los datos bibliográficos, los comentarios del revisor y la información personal del revisor al final del documento.

EJEMPLO DE ESTRUCTURA:

1. DATOS BIBLIOGRÁFICOS:

Título del libro reseñado.

Autor(es) [o editores], lugar, editorial, año, páginas.

ISBN (tapas duras/blandas) [dejar una línea de espacio a continuación]

Título de la reseña, si se necesita

2. COMENTARIO:

Descripción de la naturaleza del libro (si es académico, material docente, trabajo de investigación, etc.), cómo está dividido (en capítulos, por ejemplo) y si contiene bibliografía, gráficos o cualquier otro tipo de ilustraciones.

Resumen del objetivo del libro y de sus puntos principales.

Evaluación de los aspectos fuertes y débiles del libro. En la evaluación se puede aportar un comentario sobre si el libro es innovador o si simplemente ofrece material conocido con un nuevo enfoque. Sería interesante que también se analizara si el autor ha alcanzado lo que en el libro se presenta como objetivo principal.

Mención sobre el público destino del libro (investigadores, profesionales, estudiantes, profesores, etc.) y un comentario sobre el interés que este libro tiene para ese público.

Si se realizan referencias bibliográficas deberán ajustarse al estilo APA (6ª edición).

MONOGRAPHIC

Communication Papers publica anualmente un monográfico de temática consensuada por su equipo editorial. Dicho monográfico cuenta con una participación mínima de 3 artículos y máxima de 6.

La dirección de la revista se reserva el derecho para hacer pública la petición de artículos por via de un "call for papers", o asignar a un grupo de investigación concreto el desarrollo del monográfico.

Peer Review Process

The system Double-blind peer review preserving the anonymity of the authors and assessors throughout the process are reviewed.

The reviews (free shipping) and eassys (by invitation) will be indexed and reviewed by the editorial team.

The review process is carried articles with software Open Journal System (OJS) that ensures automated and auditable electronic record of all interactions. This is a transparent process that enables the improvement of the texts where publication is viable.

The review process takes an average of 3-6 weeks, unless incidents. Evaluators receive the request for evaluation with a suggested term commitment is requested to avoid delays.

The review process is agreed with the other communication journals associated with Latin Platform of Communication Journals (PlatCom). The diagram of the review process is available at the following link:Click here.

The review criteria are also shared with the other members magazines Magazines Communication Platform and can be found at this link: Click hereThe criteria are: originality, novelty, currency, interest, quality and methodological rigor and relevance. 

In short, when the text is received, the designated person editorial board performs a desk review to check fit the theme of the magazine and the formal rules. Once accepted, the editorial team omit information about the authors and sent to two reviewers doctors, experts in the field, not belonging to the institution of origin of the authors. When two positive reports are obtained, it shall notify the author was formally revised, model and proceed to the publication of the article, otherwise it is rejected giving reasons. The author can always exercise their right of complaint in writing to the editor of the magazine.

Interactions editor-author: acknowledgment of the text, transfer of rights and ethical commitment; Shipping acceptance for review; double evaluation results; Posted statement; invitation to broadcast networks and other strategies.

Interactions editor-reviewer: application for review with suggestions of term; acknowledgment of acceptance of the review and shipping documentation and access to the electronic platform for revision; acknowledgment of the evaluation; whether the editorial decision is "publication with major modifications" text forwarding grinding at the same evaluator and request second report; certification of collaboration.
